The next appointment of the new series “Resilience Talks” moderated by our director Lorenzo Chelleri is back on this Tuesday the 28th of February with a new guest, David Jacome-Polit former City Resilience Officer of the city of Quito, now currently working at ICLEI, it`s an honour to have him with us. David will give as a talk by the title of “Managing Urban Systems to Understand Resilience ” and illustrate as well some key activities and programs of ICLEI.
More on David: Works at the intersection of socioeconomic vulnerability and spatial exclusion and the effects inflicted on these populations by extreme natural events, including the ones caused and amplified by climate change. Has particular interest in creating and strengthening the adaptive capacities of urban and peri-urban socio-ecological and socio-technical networks to ensure the continuity of essential urban functions, such as access to water, food and energy, and other important ones such as access to transportation. Along the way, the creation of livelihoods and the betterment of living conditions is a must.
